The Wilmington Ale Trail Passport is an opportunity for visitors and locals to receive vouchers at participating local breweries, bottle shops, and craft beer-focused bars and restaurants. Our weekly Passport Picks blog post will focus on the “best bang for your buck” at one of our participating venues.
Waterline Brewing
721 Surry St
Brewery
Voucher: $5 off beverage, food, or merchandise
Waterline Brewing, located under the Cape Fear Memorial bridge, is a great spot to listen to live music on the weekends while sipping on some of the area’s best locally made beer. As the weather gets a little cooler, their outdoor beer garden is an ideal location to bring friends or family to enjoy the outdoors. Don’t forget to checkout their Oktoberfest and many other events.
If you need a little more “culture” in your life, the other half of the building houses the Art Factory which showcases local artist. Wander around and look at paintings, sculptures, photographs, furniture , and other art available for purchase.
Your Wilmington Ale Trail passport includes a $5 voucher and I think the best time to use would be on “Thirsty Thursdays”. Select drafts are just $3. All day. Get the Black IPA. It’s a local favorite.
Purchase a passport, and receive a $5 voucher to Waterline and additional vouchers at over 20 area locations.

Fermental
7250 Market Street
Bottle Shop
Voucher: $5 off beverage, food, or merchandise
If you have not been to Fermental, it is a must stop on your Wilmington Ale Trail journey. With live music every Friday and Saturday, a free wine and beer tasting on Friday, and a general house party atmosphere in their expansive beer garden, Fermental is a great place to grab your favorite craft beer or glass of wine.
Your Wilmington Ale Trail passport includes a $5 voucher and I think the best time to use would be on “Mediocre Mondays”. All drafts are $3. All day. The goal is to kick the kegs left over from the weekend and can include local favorites from Waterline or New Anthem to a heavy hitter like Founder’s KBS. It’s just a luck of the draw.

A weekly roundup of local and craft beer that can be found around the area on tap, in bottles, or in cans. These are not beer reviews and should be used for entertainment purposes only.
Orange Blossom Wit: 4.9% A light summer witbier exhibiting bright citrus flavors from orange blossom honey, and sweet orange peel. Balanced by a touch of toasted coriander and a clean, refreshing finish.
Dank’s Revenge: 7.6% Sweet & juicy up front, with a bitter dankness on the back end. This west-coast inspired IPA was double dry-hopped with citra, mosaic, and ekuanot.
El Hefe: 4.6% This wheat beer is the boss of all summer beers: bright, crisp, thirst-quenching, and crushable. Invigorating citrus and dried berry notes replace the tired old banana-clove flavor combo of lesser wheat beers. Take your taste buds on summer vacation: this is a boss you won’t mind working for.
Cream Ale: 5.2% Super clean and crisp and perfect for those warm, sunny days!
Black Tea Peach Saison: 6.5% Flytrap’s classic saison aged on whole peaches and cold-steeped with black tea.
Hoppy Wheat Ale: 5.7% This new brew was forged with the combined hop powers of huell melon and motueka.
